Terms and Conditions.

Enrolments

Enrolment for residential courses is restricted to students 16 years of age and over. Enrolments will be treated on a first-come, first-served basis. Provisional enrolments by telephone will only be held for up to one week, after which they will be deemed to have lapsed. A non-returnable deposit is payable on submission of the enrolment form or on line application. Enrolments for a course will only be binding where we confirm in writing the receipt of a completed enrolment form and deposit. On line bookings with deposits made through our website and secure payment portal will be confirmed automatically by email. All balancing fees are payable in full four weeks in advance. The deposit will be returned if for any reason the enrolment is not accepted.

Payment

Please make all payments by cheque in sterling (GBP) and made payable 'CookAbility' or use our on-line secure payment portal.

Parent or guardian consent for students aged under 18 at the time of booking

Students aged under 18 at the time of booking must have the consent of their parent or guardian to make the booking. Payment of the deposit or full course fee is confirmation that a parent or guardian has given such consent.

Any payment, by any person, to enrol a student under the age of 18 on a course is confirmation that permission has been sought and granted from a parent or guardian.

Cancellations/Terminations

Fees will be returnable subject to deduction of the deposit if written notice of cancellation is received at any time prior to four weeks before the start of the course. If you cancel within four weeks from the course start date you will be responsible for payment of the full fees. It is recommended that holiday insurance be taken out against cancellation for reasons outside the student's control. If you terminate during a course you are not entitled to the return of any proportion of the fees.

Supervision

For safety reasons all students are supervised during cooking sessions. However during free time students are at liberty to relax at their accommodation or visit the surrounding area without supervision. It is assumed that any student does so with the full permission of a parent or guardian.

Health and Safety

There is no smoking anywhere inside the buildings. In the kitchen please wear appropriate clothing, low heeled proper shoes - (No sandals)- no jewellery or nail varnish and tie back long hair.

Property

Any property belonging to students is brought on site at the sudent's own risk and the proprietors accept no responsibility for any loss or damage to the property of any students, nor do they accept any liability to any student except such as is imposed by statute. CookAbility does not accept responsibility for any injury to any student when not on the property.

Standards

Students are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the highest standards during their residential course and the proprietors reserve the right to order any student to leave without reimbursement of fees if the student does not observe such standards and any regulations of CookAbility or is guilty of unreasonable or improper conduct.

Miscellaneous

Fees and Dates are quoted at the time of publication. We reserve the right to make alterations as and when relevant. You will be notified immediately of any changes.

Alterations

CookAbility reserves the right, under unavoidable circumstances to alter the timing or content or venue of any course or of the curriculum and to substitute any teacher or instructor or to cancel a course at any time.

Certificates

A certificate is awarded at the end of the Cookery Course. A letter of recommendation may be given on the successful completion of the course where achievement and hard work show students to be sufficiently competent to use their training in a future career.

Other Courses

Thanks very much for a fantastic week and rewarding week! I've gone from not having the slightest clue as to what cooking is really about to having confidence in the kitchen and the ability to cook for the wolefamily. I'll definitely be cooking the salmon en crout to show off! Group was really great to be with and the facilities were perfect for what we needed. Cheers. Michael.
